Sales and Marketing Director – Interim or Permanent

BlueCloud CRM is private-equity backed start up business delivering state of the art customer management systems to small and medium businesses. BlueCloud CRM is now looking to recruit someone with the strategic vision and gravitas to take them through their next stage of growth and development.

This role will report directly into the Chief Executive Officer and encompass a broad range of duties, in addition to accountability for the sales strategy across the business. As a member of the board, and a senior manager, the Sales and Marketing Director will also be expected to get involved in all areas of the business. This board- level appointment will also see the right person having access to equity in the business.

Initially this role will work closely with the CEO and Business Development Director to formulate the business plans and strategic direction as well as taking responsibility for recruiting and developing the sales and marketing team. It is envisaged that the sales team will consist of a telesales unit, direct sales, digital sales and an affiliate/reseller unit.

Day-to-day responsibilities in the role will include:

• Delivering against the companies sales targets
• Developing future strategic sales and marketing plans and taking responsibility for the delivery of those plans
• Preparing appropriate sales forecasts and analyses
• Maintaining and building client relationships
• Managing PR and advertising agencies
• Establishing new sales leads through existing and developmental channels and ensuring appropriate conversion
• Ensuring appropriate maintenance of CRM data and other client information
• Management of all tender activity, including the coordination of costing, pricing and operational information
• Management of corporate exhibitions and all public facing events
• Coaching and developing members of the sales teams

The ideal person for this role will be a high-achieving Sales and Marketing Director with the ability to develop a total sales solution to its clients. The role can be based anywhere in the UK with regular travel to our HQ in Chelmsford, Essex. Given the nature of this role, however, it is expected that a significant proportion of the time will be spent with clients and affiliates throughout the UK. This role will require someone who appreciates the challenges and rewards that come with being a key member of the senior management team in an SME.
Some of the key requirements you will need are: -

• High level B2B sales experience in SAS based software products – experience of customer management systems is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable ability to deliver sustainable profitable sales growth.
• Proven ability in leading, managing and developing a sales team
• Proven ability of working within an account management structure
• Knowledge and understanding of CRM and other related database
• Experience of working within the training sector would be advantageous A history of working in a private- equity environment would be valuable

Special consideration will be given to candidates who already have a black book of contacts and can demonstrate the ability to hit the ground running

It is anticipated that the business is likely to experience a change of ownership within the next few years. It would be beneficial, therefore, if candidates have had experience of being involved in an exit process. The Sales Director will play a large part in the management of this process, which offers the prospects of both financial rewards and further career prospects.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with:

• A base salary of up to £70,000 – Competitive day rate for interim
